Please join BYP for a fun in the sun fundraiser on Sunday, June 1st, 2008 from 8:00am - 4:00pm. BYP is putting together a volunteer team for an Ironman 70.3 Aid Station to assist the 1,500 athletes participating in this exciting worldwide event. Volunteers will have the opportunity to network with fellow BYP members, enjoy some yummy BBQ and refreshments, and listen to tunes provided by Mix 106, all while raising $1,200 for Boise Young Professionals. Shifts are broken into 2 hour segments; 8am-10am, 10am-12pm, 12pm-2pm, and 2pm-4pm. Join us for one shift or the entire day! Please RSVP for this event with your name, T-Shirt size, email address, and the shift(s) that you would like to work.

Topic: No Land In Sight: Change Leadership Skills for Work & Life! Speaker: Bryan Yager

Each month BYP will host a luncheon designed to connect its members and provide opportunities to learn about upcoming events and happenings in the Boise area. These events are a great way to meet other local young professionals, have a great meal, and learn about what’s happening with BYP!

If you answered yes to any of the questions above, you won’t want to miss this energetic and informative presentation.  Bryan Yager of the Bryan Yager Group, LLC will be giving an overview of his very popular “Leading Change” workshop series.  Special emphasis will be placed on the importance of effective leadership in times of change. 

A little about the presenter:

Bryan Yager has a proven and successful track record as an effective teacher, leader, meeting facilitator and energizing speaker. With over 23 years of experience at one of the country’s largest retailers, he has focused most of his career on Management & Organizational Development.

Bryan’s professional passion revolves around leadership development and helping people discover and explore new and expanding horizons. Serving as an internal consultant, he has designed and facilitated countless workshops and processes covering a wide variety of topics including team building, change management, strategy implementation, culture transformation, customer service, continuous improvement, mentoring, leadership and performance management. He is also an aspiring author and speaker on the subject of change and change leadership.

“Lounging Series” events provide a question/answer forum, giving young professionals exposure to decision makers and community leaders. These events are held at a swanky, hip and trendy location in downtown Boise and provide a great atmosphere for networking with local young professionals and learning from influential leaders in the Boise metro region.

 

Timothy White became president of the University of Idaho in 2004. Through his leadership, the university has established a vision and strategic direction to further the its role as the state's land-grant and flagship research university over the next decade.  The university has identified five key academic priorities; science and technology, liberal arts and sciences, entrepreneurial innovation, the environment, and sustainable design and lifestyle, and has reinvested University resources in support of these themes. Immediately prior to joining the University of Idaho, White served as dean, provost and executive vice president, and interim president at Oregon State University. At the University of Michigan, he served as professor and chair of the movement science department in the Division of Kinesiology, and Research Scientist in the Institute of Gerontology before joining the University of California, Berkeley, as professor and chair of human biodynamics in the College of Letters and Science.  He is internationally recognized for his work in muscle plasticity, injury and aging. He earned his doctorate from the University of California, Berkeley, and spent two years as a post-doctoral scholar in physiology at the University of Michigan before starting his academic career in Ann Arbor. White will step down from the his post with the University of Idaho on June 30, 2008 to assume the chancellorship of the University of California, Riverside.
